How It Works

1. Reserve Your Hatch

Submit a reservation request form under the “Reserve Your Hatch” page. Choose your preferred hatch cycle date and provide the other required information. After submitting the form, you will be directed to a link to make your hatch deposit. All standard incubation cycles begin on the first Saturday of each month.

2. We Follow Up to Confirm Your Spot

Once we receive your reservation request, we’ll email you to confirm your requested hatch cycle or offer alternative dates if the one you selected is already full. This will be followed by a separate email containing an electronic envelope to sign our rental agreement and liability release.

*Your reservation isn’t officially held until the documents are completed.

2. Setup Day

After your reservation is made, we’ll reach out to schedule a specific time on your scheduled Saturday to deliver your incubator.

We’ll arrive at your home or classroom and:

• Set up your incubator

• Place the fertilized eggs inside

• Walk you through the process step-by-step

• Answer any questions you may have

*Setup typically takes about 15 minutes.

3. Your Role

Your part is simple: keep an eye on the temperature and humidity indicators and candle the eggs at the recommended times to see how the embryos are developing. The incubator handles everything else.

4. Lockdown (Day 18)

On Day 18, the eggs enter lockdown.

This means:

• Turning of the eggs and humidity are adjusted to prepare for hatching

• The incubator should not be opened again until all viable chicks have hatched and are fluffy

*Once chicks are fluffy and dry, you’re welcome to hold them for short periods of time.

5. Hatch Day

Most chicks hatch around Day 21.

After hatching:

• Chicks remain in the incubator

• Do not give them food or water

• They’re sustained for the first 48–72 hours by the yolk they absorb before hatching

*You get to enjoy the excitement and watch them settle in.

6. Chick Pickup Day

We’ll return the day after hatch day, typically a Sunday, to pick up the chicks and all equipment. No coop, no long-term care, no mess. Say your goodbyes, and we’ll take care of the rest.
